YSRCP MLAs Disrupt Assembly Proceedings Again

The members of the YSRCP were agitated over the rejection of their adjournment motion notice, demanding voting on Telangana Bill, by Speaker Nadendla Manohar.
Hyderabad | 23rd January 2014
YSR Congress Party's demand for voting on State Reorganisation Bill led to the adjournment of the State Legislative Assembly again, for a brief time, on Thursday.

As soon as the House met at 9am, the YSRCP MLAs trooped into the well raising slogans of Jai Samaikyandhra.

They were agitated over the rejection of their adjournment motion notice, demanding voting on Telangana Bill, by Speaker Nadendla Manohar.

The YSRCP members resorted to slogan shouting, stalling the proceedings of the House.

Government chief whip Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy's appeal to the YSRCP members to resume their seats did not yield any result.

Following continuous uproar, the Speaker adjourned the House for 15 minutes.

The Assembly resumed the debate on Telangana Bill after it reassembled at about 9.30am.

The Speaker allotted 3-minutes each to the MLAs to speak on the Bill. (INN)
