Reiterating its demand that the assembly should adopt a resolution in favour of keeping the state united first, YSR Congress on Monday criticized Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for their absence, at a point when the Telangana Bill was introduced in the assembly.
Adressing the media here today, YSR Congress leader Shobha Nagireddy said, "Both Kiran Kumar and Naidu are only implementing the agenda of Congress president Sonia Gandhi over the division, by not trying to stop the introduction of the bill."
"We oppose the Telangana Bill outright, and that is the reason we stood for unified state in the assembly. But the assembly should first take up a resolution for keeping the state united," she said.
Saying that the CM, who had earlier vowed to obstruct the introduction of the bill in the assembly, had "run away from his responsibility", Shobha added that it is now clear that he is only "a paper tiger" and the talk of his fight for keeping the state unified is "only a drama".
She also stated that Kiran Kumar Reddy has cheated the people, public representatives and the agitators of Seemandhra.
Criticizing TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, Sobha said, "The TDP president found time to attend the swearing in ceremony of the Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister, but he could not find time to attend the assembly and obstruct the introduction of the bill. He is only aiding the CM in implementing the agenda of Sonia."
She also appealed to them to ensure at least now, that the assembly adopt a resolution in favour of Samaikyandhra.
