YSRCP To Intensify Visakhapatnam Railway Zone Demand
Party president Jaganmohan Reddy asserted that the demand for Special Status for Andhra Pradesh and the Visakhapatnam railway zone would be intensified.
The demand for a new railway zone for Visakhapatnam would be intensified in the coming days, YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy said in Visakhapatnam today.
Jagan was speaking after offering lemon water to party leader Gudivada Amarnath, who was on a five-day-old fast, to enable the latter to break his fast, on Monday.
Addressing the party cadre on the occasion, the YSRCP chief said that Amarnath had given a written notice to the Chief Minister and the central government stating that a new railway zone should be announced within a specified date, failing which he would be forced to take up an indefinite fast. "However, the government failed to respond to the letter," Jagan said.
"In fact the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is habituated to breaking promises made during the election," the YSRCP president alleged. "Loan waivers for farmers and for DWCRA-scheme women is an example. The case is the same with the contract and outsourced employees - there has been no mention of the regularisation of their services despite the TDP government completing two years in office."
"The demand for special status for the state has also been placed on the back burner by the TDP government, and now the same is being done in the case of the railway zone, too," Jagan said.
He concluded his speech by reiterating that the demands for special status for the state and a separate railway zone would not die down but would be further intensified.
