YSR Congress Questions Naidu On Heritage Issue

The YSRCP demanded that Naidu appoint a committee to find out whether or not the toxic Formalin was present in the products of his Heritage Foods.
Hyderabad | 13th November 2014
The YSR Congress Party has demanded that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu appoint an expert committee to find out whether or not the toxic Formalin was present in the products of his family-run Heritage Foods, and come clean instead of threatening with defamation cases the people who voiced their concerns.

"He should categorically state whether the Kerala government had banned the products of Heritage Foods for containing the toxic element Formalin which may lead to cancer and other such life-threatening diseases. He should ask an experts' committee to certify that the products are safe, and until then, they should be taken out of the shelves," party MLA G Srikanth Reddy told reporters on Thursday.

Naidu stating that he had no livestock was nothing short of insulting the farmers, and he should try to come clean instead of threatening YSRCP leaders who raised the issue, with defamation cases, Reddy said.

Shifting the blame onto the farmers was heinous on the part of the Chief Minister, who was habituated to taking credit for the good work of his bureaucrats and shifting the onus onto them for his failures, Reddy alleged.

"Safety measures should be followed in any industry, and they cannot be ignored for the reason that the Company is owned by Chief Minister's family members. We demand that the products be withdrawn from the market unless a safety certificate is given by the experts," he said. (INN)
