With her open praise of the MIM's decision to withdraw support from the KKR government, Sharmila indicates that a tie-up with the MIM is not ruled out.
YSR Congress leader Sharmila on Tuesday welcomed the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen's decision of severing its ties with the ruling party, the Congress.
Addressing a gathering at Adoni of Kurnool district as part of her "Maro Praja Prasthanam" padayatra, Sharmila said that her party "wholeheartedly welcomes the decision taken by the MIM".
She said that the decision reflects that the Congress has deviated from the policies that were originally framed by her late father and former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
By praising the MIM's decision, she clearly indicated that the YSR Congress was looking towards a tie-up with the MIM in future.
However, Sharmila used the occasion to target Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu. She said that the Congress government has become weak after the MIM's withdrawal of support, and added that if Naidu was indeed true to his word, he should move a No Confidence Motion against Kiran Kumar Reddy's government.
Sharmila also slammed the state government for allegedly doing away with YSR's welfare schemes. She focused her speech on the non-implementation of his schemes that were meant for women and the youth, especially the fee reimbursement and scholarship schemes.
The YSRCP leader also greeted the people on the occasion of Diwali. (INN)
