The Congress Legislature Party, on Friday, claimed that the state-wide bandh call given by the YSR Congress party was a flop.
Talking to reporters at the CLP office, government chief whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy said that the people rejected the YSR Congress party's call for a bandh outright.
"All educational and business establishments have remained open, and the bandh call had no impact on routine life across the state," he said.
Accusing the YSRCP of trying to gain mileage out of the power crisis, he said that the general public has realised that they were being misled by the opposition parties over the issue.
Claiming that the government has been spending hundreds of crores to procure additional power, he said that by not responding to the bandh call, people have endorsed the CM's efforts to tide over the power crisis.
Gandra said that the recent rainfall has started improving the situation of power generation in the state. He said that due to good rainfall, 486 MW of power would be generated by the Srisailam dam. He said that the rain Gods have failed the plans of all the opposition parties, including the Telugu Desam Party, to defame the state government over the energy crisis. (INN)
