Telugu Desam party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday reiterated his allegation that former Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was behind the murder of Telugu Desam Party Anantapur MLA Paritala Ravindra.
Talking to media persons as part of a 3-day visit to Anantapur district, Chandrababu Naidu alleged that Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had hatched a conspiracy to kill a few more TDP leaders, apart from Paritala Ravindra, in Anantapur district.
Naidu also accused YSR of being involved in the irregularities of Obulapuram Mining Corporation, and that he had granted illegal permits to former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy for mining in the district. He alleged that YSR was responsible for encouraging the Gali brothers' corruption.
The TDP chief said that Gali Janardhan Reddy was behind bars for destroying the Tribal Goddess Sunkulamma Temple at the mining site in the district.
"The Goddess might have cursed Gali Janardhan Reddy for destroying her temple as part of his mining activities," he said.
Naidu also claimed that the credit for Gali's arrest goes to his party as it was the TDP which had launched continuous agitations against illegal mining permits in the state.
Stating that the CBI probe would come out with a comprehensive report on the illegal assets of Gali and Y S R Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Naidu said that the government should call for global tenders for mining in Obulapuram.
Earlier, Naidu unveiled TDP founder NTR's statue in Anantapur. He also conducted an aerial survey of the Obulapuram mines. (INN)
