Jagan To Protest Petrol Price-Hike
Former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy announced that he would be staging a massive protest against hike in petrol prices on January 24th at Visakhapatnam.
After staging Jal Deeksha in New Delhi against the verdict of Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal, former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has announced that he would be staging a massive protest against hike in petrol prices on January 24th at Visakhapatnam.
Addressing the gathering which had swarmed to meet him during the Odarpu Yatra at Payakaraopeta in Tuni mandal on Tuesday, the former MP criticized both the centre and state governments for their failure in controlling the spiraling prices of essential commodities.
Jaganmohan Reddy said that the common man was being burdened under the rising prices to the extent that the meagre salary an employee was getting was simply not enough to buy essential commodities.
The Kadapa leader demanded that the centre took steps to ensure that the prices of petroleum products were reduced immediately. He added that the hike in fuel prices would lead to spiraling inflation as it had a chain reaction on all other commodities.
Jaganmohan Reddy warned that his agitation against the price-hike of petroleum products would be aimed at building pressure on the government to ease the burden of the common man. The protest would be held on January 24th at Visakhapatnam, he said, and sought the cooperation of all sections of people.
Meanwhile, the Odarpu Yatra would conclude at Visakhapatnam on January 21st.
