In a volte-face, Secunderabad Congress MLA Jayasudha Kapoor on Saturday said that she strongly supports the 'Jan Deeksha' launched by former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
Jaganmohan Reddy launched the 'Jan Deeksha' at Visakhapatnam, to highlight the rising prices of essential commodities.
Expressing regrets at her inability to attend the Jan Deeksha in person, Jayasudha said that she was not keeping well. She also said that Jagan's protest had her full support.
The actress-turned-politician had earlier participated in Jaganmohan Reddy's 48-hour mass hunger strike organized by him, on the banks of river Krishna in Vijayawada on December 21 to demand a revised relief package for rain-hit farmers.
Later, on January 1 this year, Jayasudha had met Congress Committee president D Srinivas and conveyed to him her New Year greetings. Talking to media persons that day at Gandhi Bhavan, she had
denied that she was contemplating leaving the Congress and aligning herself with Jagan's yet-to-be-announced party.
She had also emphasized that she is a member of the Congress party and will continue to be one.
She had added that though she owes her loyalties to former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, she had committed no wrong, since YSR is an integral part of the Congress.
Meanwhile, Tekkali MLA Korla Bharati also extended her support to Jagan and also said that she willing to resign when he launches his new party.
