The CBI special court, Nampally, on Tuesday, extended the judicial remand of noted industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad and senior bureaucrat K V Brahmananda Reddy, to 21 June.
The special court gave these directions when they were produced in the court through video conference, following the expiry of their custody. Following the court's directions, both were shifted to the Chanchalguda Central Jail under tight police security.
Earlier, the CBI had filed a memo, seeking extension of their custody, as, according to it, the investigation had reached its peak. Contending with the probing agency, the court extended their custody.
The probing agency had arrested both of them in connection with the illegal assets case against YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy.
Nimmagadda Prasad has been named as the 12th accused among 74, in the First Information Report filed by the CBI in August last against Jagan and others. (INN)
