Film producer Bandla Ganesh today put an end to swirling news reports that he was going to contest for the Kukatpally Assembly seat in the upcoming Assembly elections.
He asserted that he would not be contesting in the elections.
In a tweet, Ganesh said, "I will not contest these elections for an MLA seat. Revanth Reddy told me that he would give me a chance in the upcoming Assembly elections. But I don't want a ticket this time. I didn't even apply for a ticket. It is important for the Congress to come to power, and I will work for it. I am grateful for your love. My aim is to bring the Congress to power this time. It will definitely come to power. We will work under the leadership of Revanth Reddy and we will come to power. Jai Congress."
The tweet has put an end to the speculation for some time now that Ganesh would contest as a Congress candidate.
It has been reported that the leaders of the Kamma Political Joint Forum had met Congress leaders in Delhi and appealed to them to give due importance to the Kamma community in the Assembly elections. According to news reports, Bandla Ganesh had been picked by the party to contest from the Kukatpally Assembly constituency in Hyderabad, which has a large number of voters of the community.
