Ananda Bagh Mahila Sangham leader Gajanani and other social activists today demanded that the State government immediately ban the recently-released Telugu movie "Ika Say Love".
Talking to mediapersons on Thursday, Gajanini, former minister Pushpa Leela, Lok Satta State secretary Saroja Devi, Ganga Bhavani and others said that the movie went totally against Indian traditions and made fun of Hindu culture.
They bemoaned the movie's director-producer Nagaraju showing Indian heritage and marriage rituals in poor light with offensive dialogues, and encouraging the younger generations to send their aged parents to old age homes among other things.
The women also pointed out that when the State's censor board refused to clear the movie, the film's director got the certificate from Mumbai and released the movie.
They demanded that the State government ban the controversial film immediately as it misled the youth and was harmful to the Indian society as a whole.
They also warned that they would file a case against the director Nagaraju if the government sat over the issue.
