Withdraw General Strike: CM
The CM stated that the strike was causing huge losses to state's exchequer, and that it would hamper developmental schemes, besides causing inconvenience to the general public.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday called upon on-strike employees of Telangana to call off their agitation.
Talking to media persons at Madhurapudi Airport before starting his visit to West Godavari district, the Chief Minister said that a separate state cannot be achieved through agitations and protests. He added that the strike was causing huge losses to state's exchequer, and that it would hamper developmental schemes, besides causing inconvenience to the general public.
The Chief Minister said that the state's power generation has decreased due to the participation of employees of Singareni Collieries employees in the general strike.
Stating that the Centre would find a solution to Telangana soon, he appealed to employees call off the strike immediately in order to check further loss.
Regarding the Mohan Kanda Committee's recommendations about Konaseema farmers who have declared a crop holiday, he said that the government would take a decision on their implementation within 2 days. He said that the government would take all measures to resolve farmers' problems.
The Mohan Kanda Report submitted to the government has been sent to all departments concerned. A high level meeting would be convened by this weekend to discuss and finalise the strategy to resolve farmers' issues, the Chief Minister said. (INN)
