Senior Congress leader and former minister D K Aruna has made it clear that she would not join the TRS under any circumstances, unlike her brother Mathkal MLA Chittem Rammohan Reddy.
"If the situation arises, I will become a beggar but I won't join the TRS," she affirmed.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Aruna said that she would stick to political values. She alleged that the ruling party was throwing democratic values to the winds, and even that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was resorting to murky politics by alienating families. She demanded that her brother tender his resignation to his MLA position immediately, and challenged KCR to get Reddy to tender his resignation.
She also said that her father late Chittem Narsi Reddy was a politician of high principles and democratic values. "My father's soul will abhor Rammohan Reddy's decision," she said, and lamented that Rammohan Reddy had brought disgrace to the family by joining the TRS unscrupulously. She pointed out that none of his supporters in the Congress had joined Rammohan Reddy in the TRS.
