The former minister and Congress leader said that the time had come to launch an agitation for the development of the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh.

Former minister D L Ravindra Reddy today said that the time had come to launch an agitation for the development of Rayalaseema.

Speaking to the media at Proddatur in the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh, Reddy alleged that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu would neglect the region if the people were not united.

He asked to know if the Chief Minister had brought any industry to Rayalaseema. It was unfortunate that Naidu was neglecting Rayalaseema, which was supposed to be his (Naidu's) birthplace, he added.

There was rampant corruption in the revenue and police departments in the region, he alleged, and called upon the people to come together to launch an agitation for the development of the region.
