The much-awaited result of the Warangal Lok Sabha seat by-election will be announced on Tuesday. While all the major political parties, including the ruling TRS, the Congress and the BJP - Telugu Desam Party combine are claiming that they will win in the electoral race, and the TRS candidate is expected to get the mandate with a slender margin. Some 69% polling was recorded.
The Election Commission will announce the winner on November 24 after the vote-counting process, for which all arrangements have been made.
Telugu Desam Party leaders like Errabelli Dayakar Rao and A Revanth Reddy accused the ruling party of acting against democracy in the polling. Even the Congress leader Gandra Venkataramana Reddy made similar remarks - that the TRS misused official machinery as it was afraid of defeat, and distributed money to lure the voters. The Congress would win the election as the people wanted to teach the TRS a lesson for not keeping its promises, he said.
Similarly, the Left parties' candidate G Vinod Kumar said that he had won the electoral battle morally as the TRS had violated the code with money and power. He scouted the comments of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao that the elections were held in a democratic manner. The TRS leadership had clearly violated the model code of conduct, he charged.
"We will launch a political outfit to fight against the anti-people policies of the TRS government," he declared.
