Telangana Congress leaders including Telangana PCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Opposition leaders in the Legislative Assembly and Council K Jana Reddy and Mohammed Ali Shabbir respectively have received a call from the Party High Command on Sunday. The leaders are scheduled to go to Delhi on Tuesday.
The Party High Command is expected to review with the State leaders the reasons for the defeat in the Warangal Lok Sabha by-election.
The High Command will also discuss with the Party leaders the strategy to be adopted in the upcoming GHMC and MLC elections.
AICC chief Sonia Gandhi, Vice-President Rahul Gandhi, General Secretary in-charge of Telangana affairs Digvijay Singh and other senior leaders are expected to participate in the discussions.
The Party leaders from the State are preparing to explain the Warangal by-election debacle in the visit. The change of candidate in the last minute, the loopholes in the campaign and the failure of the Party in countering the ruling TRS' salvos are likely to be posited as having led to the defeat of the candidate, it is learnt.
