The Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) on Thursday donated Rs 5 crores for the relief and rehabilitation works in the cyclone-hit areas of north coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Rashtriya Ispat Nagam Limited (RINL) Managing Director P Madhusudan presented the cheque for the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF) through union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu to Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
It may be mentioned that the VSP's own operations were badly hit due to Cyclone Hudhud, leading to losses to the tune of about Rs 250 crores.
The VSP is likely to resume operations by this month-end. (INN)
