Now, Palagani Prabhakar, father of the kidnapped-and-murdered 10-year-old Vaishnavi, has been declared dead. He succumbed to a heart attack after hearing of Vaishnavi's murder, and was rushed to hospital yesterday.

A family dispute over property and business is said to be the cause of the tragedy. Prabhakar is a liquor baron who’s also into the real estate business.
