Vengal Rao Nagar Corporator, Of The BRS, Attacked

Vengal Rao Nagar corporator Dedipya Rao, of the BRS, is once again in the news.

According to a police report, Rao was attacked by some women on Tuesday night.

The events are thus: Rao had complained three to four times to GHMC officials that flexes belonging to the Congress were erected by the roadside in the Yousufguda area. Following this, GHMC staff came to remove the flexis on Tuesday night. Some women who came there during the removal stopped them. With this, the GHMC staff called the corporator and gave her the information.

Rao came directly to the scene. The women not only got into an argument with her, they also attacked her. The Jubilee Hills police reached the spot after the local BRS leaders informed them about the incident.

The police initially identified the women who had committed the attack as belonging to the Congress. Both parties have however lodged complaints against each other at the Jubilee Hills police station.
