Varavara Rao Bail Petition Case Adjourned Once Again
The Supreme Court asked the Centre and the police to maintain status quo until the next hearing, paving the way for the extension of the bail term of Rao.
The hearing in the Supreme Court on the bail petition filed by Revolutionary Writers' Association leader and famous writer Varavara Rao ended in an adjournment once again today.
A bench comprising Justice U U Lalit and Justice Ravindra Bhat said that it would conduct the next hearing of the case on August 10.
It also issued notices to the union government on the issue before adjourning the case.
It asked the Centre to reply to the notices by August 2, and added that the Centre should also submit its rejoinders in the case before August 8.

For the uninitiated, Rao had been arrested by Maharashtra police in the Bhima-Koregaon case.
