Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao on Sunday condemned Telugu Desam Party leaders for moving a privilege motion against AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh.
Speaking to media persons, Hanumantha Rao alleged that the TDP leaders' decision to move the privilege motion is just over-reaction to some remarks made in a party meeting. He questioned as to why the Seemandhra leaders of the TDP remained silent when APNGOs Association president Ashok Babu had threatened to take the law into his hands iver the bifurcation issue. "Ashok Babu is a government employee, and his statements should have been treated with severity," he said.
VHR claimed that it was Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, who, as anopposition leader, had revived the Telangana movement. "Further, YSR Congress party president Jaganmohan Reddy himself said that it was upto the Centre to take a decision on granting statehood to the Telangana region. However, Jagan has reversed his stand after the Centre announced its decision.," he said.
The Congress MP sought the cooperation of all leaders from the Seemandhra region, especially those belonging to the Congress, to cooperate in the formation of Telangana. He said that Telangana leaders would reciprocate by helping them develop their residual state and its new capital. (INN)
