Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu today said that his government was allotting 125 acres for an Urdu university in Kurnool, and that an airport of international standards would also be set up in this Royalaseema district.
Addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone for the proposed Urdu university at the Orvakallu village in the Kurnool district, the Chief Minister said that his government would strive to provide education for poor students.
In line with that, from next year, a special DSC would be conducted for Urdu students, he said.
Also, imams would be paid Rs 5,000 as salary from this month, he announced.
Naidu also stated an education hub and a study circle would be set up in 900 acres in Kurnool.
The Chief Minister also inspected the Gorukallu reservoir.
Deputy Chief Minister K E Krishnamurthy, ministers Ganta Srinivas Rao and Palle Raghunath Reddy, and others attended the functions.
