Union Minister for Tourism and Culture G Kishan Reddy continues to target Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
In a fresh attack, Reddy today alleged that it had become a daily ritual for the CM to blame the union government over the issue of the procurement of paddy from the farmers of the state.
He said that contrary to the CM's public assertions, the union government would buy every grain of the paddy produce of the state. And as for parboiled rice, he claimed that the CM had himself given a letter to the union government that the state would not supply parboiled rice to it. Saying that the CM's regular diatribes against the union government then were completely insensible, he asked the TRS leaders not to create confusion among the minds of the farmers with their repeated false assertions.
He added that the CM himself was cheating the farmers of the state by not buying their paddy which was lying in the procurement centres. He also alleged that the state government had failed to come to the rescue of the tenant farmers. Pointing out that the CM had vowed that he would turn Telangana into the rice bowl of the country, he asked him how his poor treatment of the state's farmers was in sync with that. He asked the CM to not sacrifice the state's farmers for his love towards his son.
Reddy alleged that the root cause was that the state government did not have any proper planning for the crops cultivated in Telangana. He also claimed that spurious and sub-standard seeds were being sold in the state, and that the state government had failed to prevent the menace of such seeds.
