Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy and Excise & Prohibition Minister T Padma Rao Goud today appeared before the railway court in Secunderabad in connection with a six-year-old rail roko case.
After hearing the arguments of the defense counsel and the prosecution, the railway court magistrate adjourned the case to July 26.
The case was registered in 2011 against the two ministers on the charge of organizing a rail roko agitation at the Moulali railway station during the Telangana movement. Fourteen persons were booked in the case, and it has been pending for the last six years.
Speaking to the media later, Reddy said that a false case alleging that Godavari Express was stopped and hardship was caused to the commuters, had been registered against him and the others. He said that though he had gone to the railway station, neither he nor his followers had obstructed the movement of any train.
