The Commissioner's Task Force, West Zone Team, arrested two persons in front of the Corporation bank at Nagarjuna Hills in Panjagutta on Saturday, and seized two Victorian-era antiques - Victorian marine telescope and W Ottway London telescope - from their possession.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, the accused P Madhusudhan Reddy of Uperpalli in the Ranga Reddy district and G Vishal, a student residing in Attapur, were nabbed with the two antique telescopes, valued to several crores.
As per the cops, a few days ago, Madhusudhan Reddy told his friend Vishal that he had the two antiques, and asked him to sell them to prospective customers for an exorbitant rate.
While looking for customers, the duo stood in front of the Corporation Bank at the old Cuppa Coffee Shop lane in Panjagutta. While the two were attempting to sell the antiquities, the police, upon receiving a tip, captured the two and seized the possessions.
The accused and the telescopes were handed over to the Panjagutta PS. DCP B Limba Reddy, CI Raja Venkat Reddy and their team are investigating the case further.
