The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) has taken another initiative to attract more commuters. A new "T-9 ticket" has been made available for women and senior citizens travelling in the Palle Velugu buses of the corporation.
The company is already offering T-24, T-6 and F-24 tickets in Greater Hyderabad. The T-9 tickets will be another initiative on these lines.
TSRTC MD V C Sajjanar unveiled the poster of the T-9 ticket at Bus Bhavan in Hyderabad today. The ticket will be available with conductors in the Palle Velugu buses from June 18.
The ticket will be valid from 9 am to 6 pm, and commuters can travel as much as they want within a radius of 60 km. The price will be Rs 100 per ticket, and toll gate charges will be exempted. The conductors will sell these tickets only from 9 am to 4 pm, and the ticket will be valid within the Telangana State limits.
Citizens above 60 years of age will need to show their Aadhaar cards to the conductors for age verification to get a T-9 ticket.
"On an average, 15 lakh people travel every day in the Palle Velugu buses. Most of them are women and senior citizens. The TSRTC management has launched the T-9 ticket in the Palle Velugu buses with the intention of reducing the financial burden on them. The T-24, T-6 and F-24 tickets already available in the Greater Hyderabad area are getting an unexpectedly good response from the passengers, and so we are launching the T-9 ticket," Sajjanar said.
He said that the ticket would save between Rs 20 and Rs 40 per person.
The corporation has asked people to contact the TSRTC call centre numbers 040-69440000 or 040-23450033 for complete details related to this new ticket.
