Telangana Finance Minister Etela Rajender today met Únion Minister Of Home Affairs Rajnath Singh and urged him to release Rs. 2,202 crores of financial assistance to the flood-hit Telangana.
Responding to this, the Singh said that the Centre would send a team to assess the losses incurred by the State and provide necessary funds for recovery.
Speaking to the media later, Rajender said, "We have urged the Centre to provide financial assistance to Telangana as several acres of farming lands have been destroyed in the wake of the floods. We are confident that the Central government will soon release the funds."
