The leaders of the Telangana unit of the Congress have been quite vocal about
their dissatisfaction with the KCR government's handling of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in the recent past.
Today again two prominent party leaders flayed the state government for its "negligent" attitude towards the current health emergency.
Former MLC S Ramulu Naik lashed out at Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, alleging that the latter had been entirely unbothered about protecting the people of the state from the pandemic.
"Our CM feels no need to help the Covid patients in the state. He is instead focussing on buying the ZPTCs and MPTCs and sarpanches in the Huzurabad constituency to ensure the TRS' continued presence in the region - reports say that the CM has gifted Innova cars to some sarpanches, and a Fortuner to a ZPTC. Apart from this, he has been busy sitting in his farmhouse as usual," Naik fumed.
He then alleged that the CM had appointed his son, IT Minister K T Rama Rao, as the transport in charge so that the vehicles could be sent to Huzurabad inconspicuously, and added, "It is unfortunate that the CM is more invested in installing his nephew, Finance Minister T Harish Rao, as the new Huzurabad legislator, than in dealing with Covid-19."
Commenting on the reports that the ambulance drivers in the state were fleecing patients and their families in this time of crisis, the leader wanted to know why the 108 ambulances were being unable to cater to the needs of emergency patients.
MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy also lambasted the state government over the
non-inclusion of Covid-19 treatment in the Aarogyasri healthcare scheme.
He alleged that the state's minister and Covid-19 task force Chairman KTR were both dodging the questions raised by the people of the state on the matter.
"KTR is merely providing a vague reply to people's queries. He has simply stated that he will take the issue up with KCR. Several people are losing their lives due to Covid-19. Can't CM KCR see this? The father and son duo are busy misleading the people of the state by claiming that they have been taking steps to stop the spread of the pandemic. It is time for them to stop their nepotistic rule of the state. Instead, they should both think about the welfare of the people. History will not be kind to this father and son duo if they don't immediately include Covid treatment in the Aarogyasri scheme," the MP charged.
He added, "The pandemic has shown us that KCR is no longer fit to continue as the CM. He has not been able to protect the lives of the people of the state."
