The MLAs of Telangana Rashtra Samithi, BJP and CPI, on Thursday, met Governor E S L Narasimhan seeking his intervention in getting permission for the Chalo Assembly rally.
The MLAs told the governor that the proposed rally on Friday could be conducted peacefully if the state government extends its cooperation. They also complained that the government was resorting to indiscriminate arrests of pro-Telangana leaders and workers.
Meanwhile, the TRS MLA met Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy seeking permission for the Chalo Assembly rally. Besides condemning the arrest of pro-Telangana activists, the TRS MLAs said that the tension over the rally could be diffused if the police permit the same. (INN)
