Deputy Speaker of the Telangana Assembly Padma Rao Goud and Home Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali today handed over 207 2BHK units to beneficiaries of the state's free housing scheme in Secunderabad.
Hyderabad Mayor G Vijayalakshmi, Deputy Mayor Srilatha, and several other officials attended the event.
On the occasion, Goud and Mahmood Ali extended their wishes to the homeowners and gave to them the ownership documents and keys to the new houses.
Addressing the beneficiaries, they said, "Our government has built these houses in Dhobighat for the purpose of providing high-quality housing to the economically disadvantaged families in the city. We are fortunate to be inaugurating these. Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's commitment to welfare and his determination to strengthen all sections of society has made this pro-poor housing scheme a reality. Our government plans to construct a total of 2.20 lakh such houses. All the poor families in the state will get free housing. This will be provided in a phased manner."
Lauding KCR's "pro-welfare" stance, the two leaders added, "The CM has allocated a staggering sum of Rs 45,000 crore for the welfare of the people. This is a reflection of his commitment to working for the welfare of the people of the state. The poor, and the SC, ST, BC, and other minority communities in Telangana have been benefiting from the various welfare schemes introduced by him. Pensions, issuance of ration cards, and the Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bhima, and Rythu Vedika farmer welfare programs are all instances of such efforts. We will continue to work for the development of the state and its people," the two leaders added.
