In a scathing attack, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) today slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that he was spreading canards against the Telangana government.
Speaking to the media, TRS MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy criticised Modi claiming that the PM was rendering a lot of injustice to Telangana by scrimping on budgetary allocations and institutions to the State, and practicing step-motherly treatment towards it.
"Since the formation of Telangana, injustice has been meted out to the State continuously, with neither any major financial allocation nor any institution being granted to the State during the tenure of BJP government at the Centre," Reddy said.
The MLC asked the Prime Minister why the union government had cancelled the ITIR project, why seven mandals of Telangana had been merged into Andhra Pradesh, and why national status had not been granted to the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project and the Pranahita Chevella irrigation project.
At a separate press conference, Minister for Agriculture Singireddy Niranjan Reddy also lambasted Modi for implementing "lopsided" policies in the country, and alleged that Modi had introduced the Sale of India concept instead of a Make in India initiative.
"Two Gujarati people are selling the country while two Gujarati persons are purchasing it," he remarked snidely.
The minister said that even though Modi had worked thrice as Chief Minister of Gujarat and twice as Prime Minister of the country, he had failed to provide 24-hour power supply in even Gujarat, and a power holiday was still being continued in the State.
"The Modi government has done nothing for the country except spread a malicious campaign against the opposition parties and provoke the people in the name of religion through the social media," Reddy said.
