Telangana Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud and Home Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali today inaugurated an 80-seater cruise boat at Hussain Sagar.
Speaking on the occasion, the ministers said that the initiative was part of the state's tourism development plan, and that other tourists spots across Hyderabad would also be developed soon in the same way.
"As per the vision of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the tourists spots in the city are being developed in a way that will enable people to enjoy their trips to the fullest," they said.
The ministers added that Durgam Cheruvu too would get a couple of cruise boats, and the number of such boats would be increased if the demand for them went up.
"The people can enjoy parties and trips on the lake because of these new cruise boats and electronic boats," they said.
Hussain Sagar is also reportedly set to get more electronic cruise vehicle and boats in the near future.
The boat, launched to attract more tourists to the city's famed lake, has two floors and plush seating arrangements. It will not only provide rides, but can also be booked for parties and other celebrations.
In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, where the tourism sector has taken a serious hit, the Telangana government seems keen to revive the sector, and has been working on the launch of eco-friendly solar-powered boats, and e-boats in this regard.
