Telangana Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao reiterated that the TRS government would provide irrigation facilities to 1 lakh acres of land in each district of Telangana.
Speaking to media persons after assuming charge at the State Secretariat on Sunday, Rao said that the TRS government would implement all the promises that it had made to the people of Telangana.
A comprehensive plan was being chalked out to improve the irrigation facilities all districts of Telangana, except Hyderabad, he said.
The lakes and wells of the Kakatiya dynasty too would be revived, he added.
Stating that the government was firm on its promise of waiving off farm loans up to Rs 1 lakh, he appealed to the farmers not to resort to agitations.
Harish Rao sought the cooperation of all sections of the society, and said that the development process should be carried out with the same spirit which was displayed during the statehood agitation.
He also announced naming of the Bowenpally vegetable market after Dr B R Ambedkar.
Deputy Chief Ministers Md Mahmood Ali and Dr T Rajaiah, ministers Pocharam Srinivas Reddy and K Tarakarama Rao, and others were present on the occasion. (INN)
