TRS MP Jithender Reddy today denied reports that the party would support the no-confidence motion being moved by the TDP or the YSR Congress Party in Parliament for Special Category Status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh.
Talking to mediapersons today, Reddy said that the TRS had nothing to do with the no-trust move by the Andhra Pradesh leaders.
"We are fighting only for quota for STs and Muslims in Telangana," he said.
Reddy said that the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre was deceiving the people of both the Telugu states by not keeping the promises made as per the A P Reorganization Act, with nothing concrete having been done by the Centre even for Telangana so far. In such a scenario, each state had to fight for itself, and the TRS MPs would continue their protests in Parliament until the Centre came up with its stand on the quotas, he said.
"Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will be coming up with a federal front to change the national politics for a qualitative change. Only when such a front takes over will all these problems go away," he added.
