The BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre was allocating more funds for the construction of statues than for building a capital for Andhra Pradesh, said TDP member Jayadev Galla while speaking on the no-confidence motion moved by his party against the NDA government at the Centre on the issue of Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh.
Giving statistics about various central allocations, he referred to the funds released by the NDA government to Maharashtra for building a statue of Chatrapati Shivaji.
"While the Modi government is releasing huge funds for the statue, it cannot be bothered to allocate the promised financial assistance to AP for building its capital at Amaravathi," he said.
The TDP member said that the AP government and the people of the state had been waiting for the last four years for the required financial assistance promised by the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister.
"We are now clear that we have been betrayed and deceived. And now it's a war against the Modi government by the people of the state. It is a dharma poratam," he proclaimed.
