Kalwakurthy Congress MLA Ch. Vamshichand Reddy alleged that not even a single drop of water was being supplied to his constituency instead, all of the water was being diverted to irrigate 62,000 acres outside the bounds of the region.
Speaking to the media at the Assembly Media Hall on Thursday, Vamshichand alleged that the TRS government was colluding with the contractors and trying to turn Kalwakurthy into a desert.
He alleged that the State government reduced the capacity of the D82 reservoir and instead increased Ghanapar's capacity under the pressure of TRS leader S Niranjan Reddy. The State government was in nexus with Andhra contractors and taking commissions from them, he alleged.
He also warned the government of protests if it failed to withdraw the controversial order to reduce D82's capacity.
