TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Saturday alleged that the TRS had given its ticket for the upcoming by-election for the Huzurnagar Assembly seat to an Andhra leader.
He also alleged that the State government was indulging in cheap politics in Huzurnagar with the help of the Andhra Pradesh police.
Reddy said that the people of the constituency were however not oblivious to that, and that the Congress would not just retain the Huzurnagar Assembly seat, it would win it by a 30,000-vote majority.
He also claimed that the development witnessed in Huzurnagar Assembly constituency was due to work done during the Congress regime, and asked the TRS leaders what they had done for the development of the constituency in their 6-year rule.
Another senior Congress leader and former minister K Jana Reddy alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had "ruined" the entire State in his 6-year-long rule. He urged the people of the Huzurnagar Assembly constituency to ensure the victory of the Congress in the constituency and teach a fitting lesson to the ruling party.
The two Congress leaders addressed the party workers at Nereducharla village in Suryapet district after launching the election campaign for the by-election.
