TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud today launched the Janahita Padayatra and Sramadaan campaign from Rangapuram village in the Parigi constituency.
The program was inaugurated in the presence of AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, who joined the march as the chief guest.
The TPCC says that the initiative is inspired by the vision of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi for the party to act as a bridge between the people and the government, and that the yatra is yet another step toward deepening engagement with citizens at the grassroots level.
Goud claimed that under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy the Congress government was delivering on its promises and focusing on public welfare and inclusive growth, and that the padayatra would take this information to the people.
As part of the padayatra, the Congress aims to reach out to every household to inform citizens about key welfare measures already implemented - such as free bus travel for women, 200 units of free electricity per qualifying household, housing for the poor, distribution of fine-quality rice, a Rs 28,000 crore farm loan waiver completed within the first year, Rs 9,000 crore disbursed under Rythu Bharosa, and 42% reservations for BCs.
The party also reiterated its commitment to reviving critical irrigation projects like the Chevella-Pranahita initiative, which was "neglected" by the previous BRS government, to ensure adequate water supply for farmers.
