Top leaders of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana mourned the death this morning of music icon Lata Mangeshkar.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expressed deep sorrow over the death of the noted playback singer. He said that Mangeshkar had left a permanent impression for the last eight decades in playback singing, and that her death was a void which could never be filled. The CM said through her singing Mangeshkar gave the country divine music, and that she was a blessing given by God to Indian music.
The CM conveyed his condolences to members of the bereaved family.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy too expressed grief over the passing away of Mangeshkar. "Mangeshkar was a notation to the melody of Indian music. She held her uniqueness till the last stanza of her career, and her passing away is a great loss to Indian music," the Chief Minister said.
Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan too expressed deep anguish at the passing away of the legendary singer.
Paying rich tributes to the departed soul, the Governor said that Mangeshkar, who was also known as the Nightingale of India, had immortalised hundreds of songs with her divine voice, and had mesmerized generations of people with her magical voice.
TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh, and Hindupur MLA and actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, too expressed their anguish and condolences.
