The three-day holiday announced for banks from December 10 sent several people into hizzy fits, especially the poor, the middle class and aged pensioners, as they made beelines outside of banks, adding chaos and panic to their financial pressures.
Banks will be observing a 3-day holiday due to tomorrow being a second Saturday, the next day being a Sunday, and Monday being the festival of Milad-un-Nabi.
What is unsettling is that despite banks being shut for the next three days, banking authorities allegedly have not yet taken any measures to ensure that whatever little amount that could be dispersed for the daily needs would be made available to the people.
Despite tall claims by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Finance Ministry, no special arrangements were made at banks for senior citizens to draw money before the sabbatical.
With the Opposition disrupting Parliament, the ruling Party at the Centre getting into a blame game, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi not communicating in Parliament, the situation is only getting more chaotic, as per the public and a few political experts.
