CPI State Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy claimed that despite Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao knowing the effects of the demonetization of high value currency notes by the Centre, the latter was still trying to rub shoulders with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, the CPI leader slammed the Chief Minister for "supporting" the ban. He also claimed that the CM did not ask the Centre to distribute enough number of new currency notes, whereas the Centre already delivered notes worth Rs. 4,000 crores to Andhra Pradesh.
Reddy alleged that the Prime Minister was spreading false information by claiming that the general public were happy with the ban. He reminded the PM that people were facing hardships on a daily basis and the problems were only increasing.
Speaking on the recent complaints made by the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Banking Federation on the Reserve Bank of India, The CPI Secretary said, "The RBI is biased towards AP, and is unwilling to give Telangana its due share of currency notes. The RBI is giving huge amounts to the corporate banks, and ignoring public banks.
