Tendulkar Gifts P V Sindhu, Sakshi And Dipa BMWs
Ex-cricketer Sachin Tendulkar gifted BMW cars to P V Sindhu, Sakshi Malik and Dipa Karmakar at the the Gopichand Academy, for their success in the Rio Olympics.
Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar on Sunday gifted BMW cars to India's Rio Olympics medalists P V Sindhu and Sakshi Malik, gymnast Dipa Karmakar and Sindhu's coach Pullela Gopichand at a function held at the Gopichand Academy in Gachibowli, for their performances in the Rio Olympics.
The ex-cricketer and goodwill ambassador for India at the Rio Olympics handed over the keys to the players and the coach.
Gopichand's ward Sindhu won the silver medal in the badminton women's singles, while wrestler Sakshi Malik bagged bronze in the women's freestyle 58 kg category. Dipa Karmakar finished fourth in Artistic Gymnastics.
Speaking on the occasion, Tendulkar praised the sportswomen and said that they were an inspiration to all aspiring sportspersons. He also complimented coach Gopichand and said that said the he was a "real hero" who had inspired and produced top players for India.
Saying that the entire country was indebted to the three players, he wished them more success in the future.
