Telangana's Srinithya Devraj has emerged as the top female performer in the highly competitive South Zone in JEE Advanced 2024.
The South Zone comprises five States in southern India.
While Devraj's overall rank is 268, she is the female with the highest rank from the South Zone.
Devraj has consistently excelled at academics since childhood, and dedicated coaching added to that for the entrance exam in the last two years paved the way for the remarkable achievement.
Srinithya hails from a family deeply rooted in academic excellence. Her elder sister, Meghana Devraj, is an alumna of IIT Madras (Computer Science). Her father Dr Rahul Devraj is a distinguished urologist, Professor and department head, and her mother Dr Indira Devraj is a respected Professor of Anaesthesiology at NIMS in Hyderabad. Her parents are elated with their daughter's success, and are confident that she will continue to scale greater heights in her academic journey.
Dwija Patel of Mumbai is the overall topper among girls, ranking 7 overall.
The JEE Advanced 2024 was administered on May 26. A total of 180,200 candidates appeared in the exam. 48,248 candidates qualified, including 7,964 girls.
