The last phase of elections for the ZPTCs and MPTCs started on Tuesday at 7 am in 9,494 polling stations in 27 districts across Telangana. (The first phase was held on May 6 and second phase on May 10.)
The State Election Commission made all the necessary arrangements for the elections, and according to reports, the polling for the phase concluded peacefully. The polling was completed by 5 pm in all the districts, and by 4 pm in the Naxal-affected districts. Repolling for the MPTC posts for Alwal in Siddipet and Ajijnagar in Ranga Reddy also took place today.
The voter turnout was 70% by 3 pm. A total of 46.64 lakh voters reportedly participated.
On an average, there were three candidates in the fray for each MPTC seat and five for each ZPTC seat.
The results will be announced on May 27.
