Vijayashanti Slams School Employee Scheme
BJP leader and former MP Vijayashanti today slammed the Telangana government for launching an "inadequate" financial assistance package for the state's private school employees.
BJP leader and former MP Vijayashanti today slammed the TRS-led state government for launching an "inadequate" financial assistance package for the teaching and non-teaching staff of the private educational institutions in Telangana.
She claimed that the monetary assistance to be provided under the package, Rs 2,000, would not be enough to cover the expenses of the employees.
"The teachers in the state are facing tremendous monetary pressure due to the closure of the educational institutions. The state government has hastily announced an assistance package after it received criticism from all quarters for not supporting the teachers through this difficult phase. Economic problems have pushed several teachers to commit suicide. About 30 teachers have taken their own lives since October last year due to the impact of Covid-19 on their livelihoods. Even after all this, the KCR government has announced a package that will provide a measly aid amount of Rs 2,000 to the teachers and other non-teaching employees. This amount will not cover the expenses of the employees. A more effective package needs to be announced instead," the BJP leader fumed.
"Where prices of basic amenities are skyrocketing every day, and unemployed teachers are often being forced to work as vegetable and fruit vendors or labourers to support their families, how can aid of Rs 2,000 suffice? The government must launch a better support scheme for them at the earliest," she demanded.
The criticisms come after the government decided that it would provide 25 kgs of fine rice and monetary aid of Rs 2,000 to private school employees every month.
