The Telangana government today urged the High Court to vacate its stays on elections to 77 municipalities.
The government counsel informed the single bench that a division bench had asked it to get vacated the stay orders elections to 77 municipalities.
The counsel made the submission to the court quoting the ruling by the division bench to go ahead with conducting elections to all municipalities and municipal corporations in the State.
The counsel also apprised the court that the Election Commission was ready to hold the elections.
The court then adjourned the case to October 31.
Meanwhile, in a release, the State Election Commission said that all ward-wise photo electoral rolls were published in the municipalities and corporations in July, and that the people should check the same. It also asked youth of 18 years and above to get their names enrolled in the voters' list if they had not already done that.
