Minister for Panchayat Raj & Rural Development Jupally Krishna Rao today held a review meeting with District Collectors on the flagship programs Haritha Haram, Rural Employment Guarantee and Individual Toilet sanitation schemes.

He added that each household comprising of daily-wage labourers should be asked to protect 400 plants, ensuring both environment protection and jobs for. The minister also directed his officials to immediately initiate Haritha Haram at all nurseries in the State.
"The government will conduct the green drive next year again, and this time officials shall make necessary arrangements for the sustenance of the program with an aim to expand green cover. The government will provide continual employment opportunities to daily-wage labourers under Haritha Haram's 'green work'. Officials shall involve SHGs in all departments to ensure that the labourers in question got their jobs," he said.
"Every worker shall get a job. The district Collectors will take steps to ensure timely payment to the labourers and workers," Rao said.
The minister also said that the works related to rainwater pits and individual toilets would be taken up in every household within two years. "We are giving necessary funds for the programs," he claimed.
Directing officials to complete the construction of all individual toilets by October 2, 2019, and step up efforts to ensure that every house had water absorption pits, the minister recalled that during his recent visit to Kerala, he found no trace of drainage lines flowing from households. Each house owner dug their own water pits, had set up compost and biogas plants, and also made arrangements to allow rainwater to flow into wells instead of rivers.
