Telangana To Boycott NITI Aayog Meeting On July 27: Revanth Reddy
Protesting against the injustice done to Telangana in the Union budget, the CM said that the government had decided not to attend meeting to be chaired by the PM.
Protesting against the "injustice" done to Telangana in the Union budget, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today announced that the State government had decided not to attend the NITI Aayog meeting to be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on July 27.
The State Assembly today passed a resolution appealing to the Union government to render justice to Telangana by amending the budget proposals in the ongoing budget debates in the Lok Sabha.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the union government had completely neglected the State government's pleas and discriminated against the State in the budget allocations to Telangana.
He claimed that the Centre has adopted an indifferent attitude towards the State from the day of the formation of the State, and that it had failed to fulfill the promises made in the AP Reorganization Act. The unfulfilled promises had a negative impact on the development of Telangana, the CM claimed.
"The State Assembly registered a strong protest against and expressed unhappiness over the Centre's neglect for Telangana," Reddy said. "We have decided to boycott the NITI Aayog meeting to protest the injustice done to the State," he added.
