Telangana Tribal Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod today said that the state government would soon address the issues of the promotion of the government employees.
Speaking at a meeting with the concerned officials and the representatives of the Gurukula Vidyalayala Telangana Udyogula Sangam, an association representing the teaching and non-teaching staff working in the Telangana Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society Gurukulams, she assured all the eligible employees that they would be awarded promotions soon.
"The government will address various problems of the employees, including the issue of promotions and transfers, and will also review the current service rules which have been hindering the career advancement of many employees," Rathod said.
Reacting positively to the employees' demands, she also promised that she would personally take up the issue with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and would urge him to look into the matter at the earliest.
At the meeting, the minister also encouraged the teachers and the non-teaching staff to offer their best services to their students to fulfil their aspirations.
"The government has started Gurukulas for the benefit of the people of Telangana as our aim is to bring development that is holistic and inclusive. Please continue to help us in our endeavour to do so," she said.
The TRS government has been facing major backlash from the government employees of the state for a number of reasons, including its "failure" to address their problems, and for the
"miserly" pay hike proposed the Pay Revision Commission. It was also
criticised by some employees whose transfers had allegedly been stalled for a long time.
